Why I Love Regina
June 15, 2010 – 2:31 pm
Heather and I have lived in many different towns and cities in the last 7 years and I have to say that Regina is best. I even like the Queen city more than my hometown of Edmonton, just don’t tell Edmontonions that or they’ll string up by my toes and hang me off the High Level Bridge. Tomorrow is “I Love Regina” day but I’ve been thinking about my adoration for the capital city of Saskatchewan for a while now. Every time I go for a run around the Legislature grounds, or take Fern to the dog park or wait in line for my two scoops of Rolo ice cream at the Milky Way I say out loud “man I dig this town”. I love all the wild animals that call Wascanna park home, from the cute bunnies to the proud goose. I love the sports here, nothing beats sitting at Currie field on Sunday with an ice cold wobbly pop cheering on the Red Sox or getting painted green wearing a watermelon and screaming for the riders at Mosaic Stadium. Even our Mayor here in Regina is great. Pat Fiaco is the nicest guy I’ve met, he would even stop and help you change a flat tire, can’t say that about the mayor of Edmonton. There are so many reasons why I love this city and tomorrow is the day to show your pride.
I Love Regina is not just a slogan, but an emotion that drives all Reginans. It represents the heart citizens wear on their sleeves everyday; sleeves rolled up in a constant and collective effort to make Regina the best it can be.

One Response to “Why I Love Regina”
Hi Trent! Great post. Glad to have you here! It’s so nice to have an import love this city as much as those of us who were born and raised here. I lived in Calgary and Toronto for a short period, but I couldn’t wait to move back home. Nobody understands, until they’ve lived here!
GO GREEN!
